Spinosaurus is arguably my favorite dinosaur, yes more so than T-Rex. I love T-Rex, he is built more like a tank than Spino and he is equipped with much more powerful jaws used for crushing bone. However, Spino has massively power arms in comparison, and he is much more amphibious than T-Rex making him double trouble.
But ultimately Spino simply pleases me more aesthetically. The crocodile-like head and perplexing spines on his back make him appear more monster than animal. Monsters are in some cultures worshiped and Spino to me seems like the bestial form of the Egyptian crocodile god Sobek.
This picture particularly highlights Spinosaurus’ unnatural and terrifying visage. There is something about the way he looks at you dead on that makes him appear so alien. His claws are clutched close to his body like they are ready to latch out and grasp you. The way his tail swings outwards with his spines in full display, its as if he is goading you to run, just so he can give chase…
Not a banner, but it’s still funny. Well, to me anyway.
